Wednesday, July 17th - 2024

4-5pm PT (7-8pm ET)

Can't make it live? Recording of these sessions will be emailed to all registrants after each event. We'll also upload them to our Webinar & Live Events page.

In this session, we'll cover:

Who admissions officers are, what their job entails, and how to give them material to help advocate for you in their application review and committee process

When and how is the backdrop for the evaluation process established?  Priorities/goals for recruitment and evaluation.

Examples of different selective colleges’ rating scales and rubrics— and the things that actually help students “score points” in their application

An analysis of actual write-ups/notes that admissions officers took on former selective college applicants

A detailed overview of Committee Based Evaluation (CBE): the primary method that highly selective colleges use to read, evaluate and rate applications

The evaluation journey an app takes - flow chart - a good graphic with boxes and arrows.

Two current and former admissions readers evaluate a student’s file (including their school profile, transcript, recommendations, and Common Application) in under 10 minutes— just like a real admissions office!
