What's the boot camp all about?

We all love our students. Even when they leave their college essays until the last minute.

But how can we best support our students when they need our help, the essays just aren’t there yet, and the deadline looms large?

That’s what I’ll cover in this one-day boot camp designed to give you tools, frameworks and sample essays to help you quickly and accurately assess your short runway students’ work and effectively guide them towards a stronger, more standout college application.

When is it?

Thursday, December 12th, 4-7pm PT (7-10pm ET)

OR...

Saturday, December 14th, 9-12pm PT (12pm-3pm ET)

Note: Content is the same on both days; I’m simply offering two options for joining live.

What's included?

In this one-day boot camp:

• The exact process I use for helping a student decide whether they should keep their personal statement topic or choose a new one (and how I deliver the news gently)

• How to help your student find a new topic (in about 30 minutes)

• How to improve less-than-stellar essays when the student is stuck on their topic and there’s no time to start over (including “Challenge” essays and extracurricular essays)

• Two strategies I use to help a student cut unnecessary words

• How to raise the likelihood that things will go well for your student, using a meeting schedule and specific agreements (editable templates you can use)

• “Ask Me Anything” style Q&A time with me

• Tons of example essays you can use with your students

“Ethan’s courses, resources, strategies, and approach have been a blessing for our students.  They are easy for students to understand, well-informed, and they allow us to assist our over-stretched counselors in helping our students each year. I highly recommend Ethan’s courses, resources, and strategies for anyone working with students.  They are among the best possible things you can do for yourself and your students.”

- Michael Trevino, Former Harvard and UC Admission Reader
